Christmas (Valley) in July

What better place for Christmas in July than Christmas Valley? Rather than moving camp each night this tour will feature a different loop each day from our base in the town of Christmas Valley, and each day’s ride will start at the local espresso bar and candy shop, so you can caffeinate and carbo load at the start. Staying in one camp while riding a different route each day also allows for walking/hiking exploration of the area for members of the group who decide they want a shorter or easier day with or without riding during the week.

The package includes:

  • Shuttle to and from Portland
  • 6 camp nights with complete porter service (all you need is your sleeping bag and pillow) We provide double occupancy tents with cots, mattresses and all the gear
  • 6 breakfasts, 5 lunches, 5 dinners including the Cowboy Dinner Tree and plenty of fluids and snacks to keep you moving. Since it is Christmas, you can count on hot chocolate with peppermint liquor and lots of Christmas Cookies

2017 Tour Date

  • July 23rd-29th

$1500 per person based on double occupancy

Product Description

A different loop each day from our base in the town of Christmas Valley

Bring your big tires for this one, while we do have some pavement there is plenty of gravel to be had as well- you don’t want anything narrower than a 32mm tire on this one, 35s will be more comfortable, and your on the bike guide will be rocking a Fargo with 29×2.0 tires, so don’t be scared to go big. The Bike Concierge is always willing to supply an appropriate ride if you don’t want to bring your own.

Five ride days with five different loops focusing on the unique history and geology of the area, this ride was the brainchild of our staff naturalist and he earns his keep providing the answers to your questions about the region. Bring your hiking shoes (remember, full van support so you don’t have to carry them on the bike!), some of our rides will take us to places you will want to explore on foot, like Fort Rock and the Crack in the Ground.

In addition to your appetite for adventure, bring your appetite. We keep you fed in camp and on the road for most of your meals, and our final ride takes us to the Cowboy Dinner Tree, where your entrée options are a 28 oz. Top Sirloin or a whole chicken, with all the sides you would expect!
